Cultivating an institutional ethos: The Chair fosters a culture of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and inclusivity within UNISA's ODL programs. Addressing South African needs: The Chair tailors its research and activities to address the specific challenges and opportunities of ODL in South Africa. Advancing Ubuntu philosophy: The Chair integrates the Ubuntu philosophy of "humanity towards others" into its ODL practices.
